It has been tested with Windows 10 and Windows 11. It works fine with both of them.
For Windows 7, not sure if anyone is still running this versions of Windows, but if you do, most likely it would work fine as well.

Installation Instructions

Upon download,
  1. Go to the Downloads folder, unzip the gt.zip file
  2. Click on the "Setup" to start the installation process, follow instructions
  3. Once done, it adds an icon of "GroceryTracker" to your desktop
  4. Click on this icon would start the "GroceryTracker" program (But you may get an error because your Windows security has not granted it permission. See next section.)

    No worries. We can easily fix it by following the instructions below.

Here's how to grant it permission

  1. Open Windows Security Settings:
    2. Click on the Start menu and type "Windows Security" and open it. Alternatively, you can access it via Settings (Win + I) > Update & Security > Windows Security.
  2. Navigate to Virus & Threat Protection:
    3. In the Windows Security window, click on "Virus & threat protection".
  3. Manage Settings:
    4. Under the "Virus & threat protection settings" section, click on "Manage settings".
  4. Add an Exclusion:
    5. Scroll down to find the "Exclusions" section. Click on "Add or remove exclusions".
  5. Add Exclusion for Your Program:
    6. Click on "Add an exclusion" and choose "File" or "Folder" from the dropdown menu.
    If you choose "File", navigate to the executable file of your program and select it.
    Enter/copy/paste "C:\Users\user\AppData\Downloads\GroceryTracker\gt.exe" (of course replace the "user" with your actual "username")
    If you choose "Folder", select the folder where your program is installed. This will exclude all files within that folder from being scanned. Once selected, the file or folder will be added to the list of exclusions and will not be scanned by Windows Security.
